Who is responsible

Charging Stations Map is the independent operator of this website and the controller of personal information processed for its own purposes. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to privacy@chargingstationsmap.net.

Information handled

• Search terms, map areas, route endpoints, selected vehicle settings and charging filters needed to return requested results.
• Approximate or precise location coordinates only when you grant browser-location permission and use a location-based feature.
• Technical request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, security events and request logs processed by hosting and security providers.
• Local browser preferences, including theme, map choices and your cookie-consent selection.
• Referral and interaction information processed by optional advertising, analytics or affiliate providers after applicable consent or when you deliberately follow an external link.

Why information is used

Information is used to provide searches, route calculations, charging results and requested location features; remember preferences; secure and maintain the website; prevent abuse; comply with legal obligations; and, when allowed, measure usage or attribute advertising and affiliate referrals.

Depending on the feature and applicable law, the legal basis may be performance of the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, consent for optional storage or location access, or compliance with a legal obligation.

Cookies and browser storage

Necessary local storage remembers interface preferences and your privacy choice. Optional advertising and analytics are loaded only after you select “Allow optional cookies.” Selecting “Necessary only” disables those optional integrations on the next clean page load. You can change your choice at any time.

Location information

Browser geolocation is off until you choose a location or navigation feature and grant permission. GPS watching stops when the page is hidden and when navigation ends. You can revoke permission through browser or device settings. Map-area or route coordinates may be sent to the services needed to return charging, geocoding and routing results.

Service providers and external links

The website may use Cloudflare for hosting and security; Open Charge Map for charging-location data; OpenStreetMap-based geocoding, routing and map-tile providers; and other map styles selected by the user. These providers receive the technical data necessary to answer a request and apply their own privacy terms.

Advertising and analytics

Advertising placements are reserved but may remain inactive until a provider is configured. If Google, Ezoic or another provider is activated, its optional cookies or similar identifiers will be subject to your consent choice where required.

Retention and security

First-party preferences remain in your browser until you clear them or change the setting. Edge caches expire according to the configured service period; the current charging cache uses a maximum target of 24 hours. Security and request logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, abuse prevention and legal obligations, subject to provider settings. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

International processing

Providers may process information in countries outside your own. Where required, transfers must use an available legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another lawful safeguard.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or obtain a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. To make a request, email the address above. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

California and US state choices

Where applicable, residents may request access, correction or deletion and may opt out of covered sale, sharing or targeted advertising without discrimination. The site does not sell personal information for money. Some optional advertising or referral processing may be treated as “sharing” under broadly defined state laws; choose “Necessary only” or contact us to exercise an applicable right.

Children

The website is a general travel-planning tool and is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required locally. We do not knowingly request account information from children.

Policy updates

This Policy may be updated when features, providers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be identified by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, an additional notice.
